Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program
U.S. Department of Justice · Bureau of Justice Assistance
Provides death, disability, and education benefits to public safety officers and their survivors. The PSOB death benefit is a one-time financial payment to eligible survivors of officers who died in the line of duty.

Provides resources, peer support, grief programs, and hands-on assistance to families and coworkers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Offers retreats, scholarships, and a national network of local chapters.

National Organization
Provides mortgage-free homes to surviving spouses with young children and pays off mortgages for the families of fallen first responders and military service members. Also supports catastrophically injured responders.

Honors fallen firefighters and provides resources, survivor support programs, and assistance to their families and departments. Hosts the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend each year.

COBRA Continuation Coverage
U.S. Department of Labor
Allows surviving family members to temporarily continue the health insurance coverage they had through the officer's employer. Time-sensitive — families typically have a limited window to elect coverage after a qualifying event.
